Why Does Congress Insist...
On asking the wrong questions in their hearings?
Let's start with the the recent one: Howard Lutnick. Every time I watch a Congressional hearing they seem to tap dance around important bits of information as if they don’t want to rile up a defendant, giving whoever a wide doorway to avoid his/her misdeeds.
We must remember, these folks have had plenty of time to think about their relationships; about the crimes they may have committed. And with the exception of Pete Hegseth and Kristi Noem, Trump tends to surround himself with some pretty smart albeit bent people. People who can cover his proverbial bad dance moves and hot air leaks in the WH Pressers. Smart people who can manipulate his every… (We best leave that last bit for a different discussion.)
If I were in the position to ask the first question, I’d start with:
Mr. Lutnick, did you receive advice from Mr. Epstein on how to set up an illegal tax shelter outside the borders of the US?
Hm. Isn’t Mr. Lutnick the one who lived directly next door to Epstein in NYC? That expensive neighborhood near Central Park? One would imagine he’d be captivated with the idea of hiding some of his wealth from the IRS. Would he take advantage of this opportunity, of playing with the big boys of what I suspect were Epstein’s outer circle of friends?
After this question, I think the rest might go a bit smoother…
NOTE:
Image shown is a glimpse of Epstein's off shore accounts as detailed in:

One would imagine a forensic accountant may be looking into this as I would think there might be more. One hasn’t seen Ghislaine’s money, assuming she was well paid for her… er… services.
